If we knew the world was coming to an end in 10 years or even 100 years, imagine how everyone’s priorities would be different from what they are right now.
After 3.5 billion years of supporting life, the earth may no longer be a hospitable environment for humans some 450 million years from now when we get hit by an asteroid. Or maybe climate change will get us first.
At what point will we stop preoccupying ourselves with trivial busyness and globally unite in the salvation of the human race as priority one? What will it take to allow us to see past political, economical, religious, and cultural differences? What deadline would trigger enough urgency?
